Chocolate, Conversations and Simple Easter Evangelism Ideas

Church
Easter has a funny way of opening people up, doesn’t it? For many Aussies, it raises quiet questions—about life, meaning, and even God. That makes it one of the best times to share about Jesus in a way that’s natural, thoughtful, and not awkward. You don’t need to be a Bible scholar or street preacher; you just need to be you to share simple Easter evangelism ideas.
It’s not about pressure—it’s about presence. Here are some simple Easter evangelism ideas you can do this year:
Easter’s Not Just About Choccy Eggs

Let’s face it—Easter in Australia means a long weekend, hot cross buns, and mountains of chocolate. But it’s also one of the best times of year to chat about faith. Seriously, people are way more open to talking about Jesus at Easter than at any other time. So, how do you bring up the gospel without coming off like you’re handing out tracts at the servo?

Keep It Natural, Not Awkward

You don’t have to become someone you’re not. You don’t need to preach. Just be real. Share your own story. A mate of mine says, “Before Jesus, my life was like this… then I met Him… and now it’s like this.” Keep it short, honest, and from the heart.

Chat about purpose, hope, or even just how you’re doing life with Jesus. Ask them, “What does Easter mean to you?” You’d be surprised where those conversations can go.

Everyday Moments Are Gold

You don’t have to host a crusade. Maybe it’s a barbecue. A walk. A coffee. Text someone:
“Hey, thinking of you this Easter. Hope it’s peaceful. If you ever want to chat about faith, I’m here.”

That’s it—simple, kind, and full of potential.

Or try the hot cross bun idea: drop off a pack with a note like,
“Just like this bun has a cross on it, Easter reminds us of the love Christ has for us all.”

It doesn’t have to be cheesy. It just needs to be you.

Create Space Through Hospitality

Jesus often connected with people around food (Luke 5:29–32). Invite someone over, host a simple brunch or morning tea. Share a short thought on Easter—something like, “Easter reminds me that God never gave up on humanity. It gives me hope.”

Light a candle, pop on some peaceful music, and create a space where people feel relaxed. You don’t have to say heaps. Sometimes, people just need to see your faith in action.

Don’t Forget the Digital World

Most Aussies are on social media. Post a verse with a thought. Drop a worship song or a short YouTube vid that meant something to you. Tag a few friends. Start the convo.

John 4 shows the woman at the well running back to town saying, “Come see a man…” She didn’t preach. She shared her encounter. That’s all you need to do too.

Closing Thoughts

At the end of the day, simple Easter evangelism ideas aren’t about big productions or polished speeches—it’s about being real, present, and available. So let’s not miss the moment. Let’s lean into the openness this season brings and be intentional in pointing people to the hope we’ve found. Because the message of Easter—Jesus’ death and resurrection—really is the best news anyone could ever hear. And it’s news too good to keep to ourselves.
